Seventh Sunday after Pentecost
July 12- 18, 2026,
Stewardship Notes: Romans 8:12 – “So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.” We owe the flesh, the world and the devil nothing at all. We are not debtors to these enemies; we are freed by the blood of Christ. We are joyful servants in Christ’s kingdom — servants that He call friends. We share our Lord’s plans and purposes, and this gives direction and purpose to our lives.

VBS Report 2026 – The theme was “Wake, Awake – Watching for Jesus” It took place June 29th through July 3rd from 1:00 to 4:00. Bible lessons were Palm Sunday, Calling of the First Disciples, Ten Virgins, Jairus’ daughter, and The Last Day.
Staff: Pastor and Lisa Thomas; myself; Charlene Snyder; Brad Cole; Mandi Steffenson; Phyllis Haugen; Walter and Briana Snyder.
Nineteen kids were registered, with an average daily attendance of sixteen. Seven were non-members.
On Thursday, we went to the Libby Care Center to present a short program. Thanks to Ms. Samantha for being our pianist. We wore our “I God and VBS” t-shirts. Also on Thursday,
Mr. Brad’s class (Grades 3 & 4) assembled treat boxes of fruit, cookies, and a card for the Shut-Ins.
After the closing Devotion on Friday, family members enjoyed homemade ice cream with us. Ice cream was made by Dan and me. The offering of $35.00 was sent to Alaska Missions for Christ. Lots of items for OGT: shoes, socks, toys, clothes and more.
THANKS! staff, anyone who donated snack items and those who prayed for us. Next year, “Expedition Norway-God is Good!”
VBS Kids – please take your crafts items home today – Thanks!
No Host Lunch – Please join us for No Host Lunch on Tuesday, the 21st of July, at Smoking Gun BBQ. Sign up list is in the back.
OGT Drive –Items they don’t accept and any items that Roger and Mary can’t take to Nebraska will be going to the Basic Needs Store and the Mission Store here in Libby. THANKS to all who donated. God Bless! s/Evangelism Board.
Missing Banner Stand – wooden square with three (3) holes. I don’t think anyone borrowed it. Has to be in the church somewhere but I can’t find it. s/Ms. Freda
Made with Love Club – needs t-shirts to be made into kids’ shorts. No black, white, or Thrivent. Sizes Y-M to A-L. No holes or stains. Leave in my room – thanks!

If you have a new address or email (different from the one(s) printed in 2/10/2023 and inserted in the pictorial directory of 1913-2013, or if you don’t want your address or email shared, tell Sharon or e-mail the church at info@sjlc-libbymt.org and let her know by July 24th.
In the back are copies of the last 5 weeks’ worth of Pastor’s sermons and the bulletins if you need them. They are in the very bottom boxes to the left. (Pastor’s sermons are not on the website.)
